Hi,
i'm about to get an mp3 player and have heard that there are supposed to be quite a few that are better than iPods, but i don't know which ones 
I wanna be able to store some hardcore tapes on it, which i don't think is possible with iPods, unless theres a way round it...otherwise which ones have this feature?
Anyone have any experience/thoughts

If you want something easy to get imodownloads onto make sure it's WMA DRM compatible... otherwise they are pretty much all the same?
it's all hardcore.

if your going to get a mp3 player, look into creative, there players have the best audio quality, and capacity varying from 128 mg, to 60 gigs. no competition =p

Except that Apples iPod is the world leader in mp3 players, they have the easiest interface, look better then any other mp3 players (well Sony's look very good too, but they have to use copyrighted files, so theyre not any good). Storage from 512MB's to 60GB's.

They have ones beyond Ipod
Which come with AV connections, meaning you can download a movie on your mp3 player and play the movie thu the unit into any TV

it all depends what you are looking for (size, price etc)
try www.kelkoo.co.uk they compare prices from all over internet and get the cheapest ones

which kick ipods ass!!!!
i got this 1. its storage is amazin 30G (8000 songs), its a it big, and wide since the buttons are on the side, but the sound quality is amazin, n i love it!!
if u want an MP3 player that is better than the ipod go 4 the company "creative" which the best two are the first 2 images m8!!!!

I had looked into the creative ones so that will be a definite option, i just hate the way everyone goes for ipods coz they're cool, even though feature wise there are some come out recently that kick they're arse.
(not wrecking ipods too much though coz i sure wouldn't turn 1 down)
soon be rocking to hardcore on my travels!

hyperdance knows what im on about, it dosn't matter what it looks like, or how many units it sells, it all comes down to what it sounds like. im going to go with the company that makes QUALITY THX CERTIFIED audio equipment, not the company that makes computers which are the equivalent of a paper weight. theres no denying the supirior sound, so what bother with an ipod, as it also cost extra, as its " the best seller" =o

Creative Zen Micro what hyperdance is on about, its all about it. I think it is much better than the ipod and i have managed 2 get my entire collection on there and i still have space left ( for Bonkers 14/hHH3:D)) The sound quality is spot on. Zen micro crap on ipod's!
Drugs may be the road to nowhere, but at least they're the scenic route. . .

yea its soo kick ass!! i was amazed wen i held it! is well better than the ipod mini, holds more songs (2500) and has better sound quality.!!! its soo amazin! shuda got dat 1 lol.

I saved up to buy an mp3 which was gona cost me £50. I bought it and then a week later i lost it. my dad bought me a new 1 that cost £60 and nw i have to pay him back. Hope I don't loose this 1 lol.

Thats the one I have.
Nice and handy 2gb plus ten radio stations.
Small and light too and it has great sound.
