I think it goes without saying that the quality of music must be high. Just because someone is making new music it doesn't automatically mean they should be booked. My point was: if Sy is to become relevant again, he must either a) Get in the studio again. b) play upfront Hardcore from other artists.
There isn't a place for someone to be consistently booked if they aren't playing new music.

No they do not speak anymore, basically sy put his house up for sale in 2012 when they were still working together and he didn't even tell Chris, sy has moved away from the area, so not sure how it would have panned out anyway between the two if the fallout didn't happen, also Chris lost both his parents in the space of a year and one of them passed away around the time it all blew up with sy and storm and sy didn't bother to send Chris one message asking how he was, but the friendship had broken down between them anyway earlier in the summer of 2012 as they were both playing the same event back 2 back and had a long drive think it was Sheffield and something was said by Chris in the car on the way home who was having a joke and sy lost it with him apparently and that was that, there is a lot of things that happened before the whole thing later in the year between sy and storm blew up, also sy cannot make music by himself that's why he hasn't and won't, plus Chris done 90 per cent of the work on all sy and unknown tracks,

so, Sy can make music, but can't produce
Chris can produce, but can't make music?

Sounds like Sy knew there was trouble brewing before it all became public and he was starting to lose his cool. Chris Unknowns Facebook post a couple of years back alluded to that as well. It's funny looking back, I spoke to Chris at HTID in the sun 2012, I remember thinking to myself that he went a bit strange when I mentioned Sy.
I don't know about your comment that Chris done 90% of the work. I can only go on how good their collaborations sounded compared with how average Chris' solo tracks were. That 10% from Sy made a hell of a difference...

I don't know, maybe we appreciate different things when we go to these things, which is allowed. I just don't know where this thing comes from about hardcore tunes needing to have a finite shelf-life.
I agree with you when it comes to albums (e.g. that Vinylgroover mix on the Technikore album) but not when it comes to sets; Sy on the decks (playing the Quosh back cat) is a lot more entertaining than watching someone from the nu skool hit 'auto-sync' on a laptop.

It's a funny one, ya know. I was thinking about this style of track very recently. They've always existed - probably in equal measure to uplifting/vocal/cheesy stuff. But it always struck me as weird that people who like uplifting stuff also like this kind of stuff. Twisty, filthy, moody. I personally don't. I mean, they're alright on the dancefloor if you're off ya box on squeelers (tequila) and just want to pound around the floor. But musically I've never taken to them.
Nothing against them or people that do like them. Just occurred to me how fundementally different those two sets of elements that make up the two styles of music are liked, generally, by people equally.

I think, as well, his collabs are generally alright. It's just his solo stuff can be a bit weak in comparison.
