I just face-palmed so hard I hit the face of the dweeb standing behind me at the decks trying to catch a glance of my ass bobbing while I rock out to the ch00nz I love with the people I care about.
Y'alls reasoning for blatant objectification in a field where women are constantly fighting to be seen as equals (and not "cute" or "hot" and thereby given some sort of handicap) is laughable, at the very least. It's a great way to burn a bridge and get a few laughs at your own expense. ggwp

Blatant sexism on the internet? not surprising, Objectification of female DJ's? not surprising. That it's 2017 and this is a real thread in the HHC community... one that supposedly gives a shit about Peace Love unity and RESPECT? A little surprising.
To the gay fella who says it's cool because he doesn't care if someone does this about dudes. Just because you don't care doesn't mean that everyone else is OK with it. Also this isn't happening to dudes in EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION, which makes it a lot easier to stomach. IF you are a female DJ every conversation is about your looks, and if you're a male DJ the conversation is about your talent. It results in discrimination (in both directions) and makes the barrier of entry much higher for Female DJ's. People also take them a lot less seriously as a result.
To the rest of you. There isn't much I can say here that hasn't been said. You want to make DJing a Boys club and that's cool for you but lets not pretend for even one ****ing second that this is anything other then blatent and rampant sexism.

lol NOPE! You can teach at a university without a PhD. Heck, you can tech at a uni without only an undergrad. There's quite a bit more to a PhD than teach. In fact, most with a PhD only teach as a means to obtain teh grant money and lab time to conduct their research. Try Googling your response next time before you send it. :)

This is true. One of my teachers in college only had a Master's degree. In community college or one of those tech and/or online colleges an undergraduate degree is good enough. But at my school if you wanted a tenureship, which would make you nearly immune to getting fired, you have to have a PhD
