I wanna be a DJ, like im sure everyone else does...immagine being Scott Brown or something, stood in front of a crowd of raving mad people...all there for your tunes, and to listen to what you have created! amazing......

Thing is, i have no idea where to start and probably wouldnt have the tallent to do it either, ive tried using decks...cant do that lol. Also i have tried using programms on my computer, like Fruity Loops and Reason....What?...How the **** do you use them programmes????

Anyway, enough bitchin...i just thought id tell everyone that.....But at the end of the day, weather i can DJ or not is irrelevant becasue i can still enjoy Hardcore....to the end!

it's not something you can try once then decide you cant do it, takes a lot of effort for a long time to get anywhere with either dj'ing or producing. Course you can enjoy hardcore whatever but the more you understand the better it is imo.

Venga familia!!!

If u wanna be a Dj that bad, Id look for a corse to go on (at a college etc.).
Thats what i done, before i went i didnt have any decks, didnt have a clue where to start or anythin. After a few mounths id learnt the basic beat matchin. At the moment im learnin how to produce and things r goin well.
So if u want it that bad i suggest u do sumthin like this.

^^ ^^ defo agree with you there bassed, when i first left school i did a one year music and creative industries course defo helped me get the idea behind how music is structured and stuff before i could afford my decks. Also met loadsa really sound folks with knowledge of all kinds of music and had a quality time so if you can afford to go to college it's definitely a good way to get you started.

Venga familia!!!

You can learn more about turntablism by spending half an hour on a pair than you can if you spend a month learning all about DJing without decks. At the same time, you can learn more at a DJing masterclass with decks than you can messing around for a whole month. In short, get yourself some decks and get yourself a tutorial video. You can sit around saying "I will dj soon...I will dj soon..." or you can just get up off yer arse and actually do it.

Some people consider being a DJ either when:
a.)you scratch rekkids
b.)when you play music for weddings, school dances, etc.
c.)Mixing it up at house parties, get togethers, events, venues, raves, etc.

Either one, all are considered DJ's.
I believe the majority of Dj's out there fall in the C. category.
But that's just me, and i'm a dumba**.

You might want to give this a try:

http://www.simplestar.com/site_html/music.php

Just got it myself, it allows you to mix your own mp3 and it's dead easy to use.

forget going to college if ya wanna learn how to mix. get some decks and spend as much time possible on them.

and dont expect to be a superstar overnight. between getting my decks and my first shot out live took 2 years. i'm only just getting heard now round here and thats after 5 years. its a long process but well worth it every step of the way. good luck to ya.

producing on the other hand,by all means go to college. there is a hell of a lot to learn and its nothing like music 2000

Patience is virtue...
its not going to happen over night.. and don't expect anything from it.. i mean, its hard as hell to get to where u want to be as an artist.. I'd suggest, just take it day by day.. be willing to make some serious investments, including $ and time.. a nice set of decks ALONG will run u at least a grand, and that doesn't even include a mixer (unless u get lucky). it'll take YEARS for u to develope your own style and technique.. i've been playing since '00, and have invested so much time and money on records and equipment.. Plus, i was in school the whole time, and am about to go 2 dental school.. As much as i'd like to spend more time on music/ production.. i'm glad it works out the way it does.. because this way, i'm not getting sick of what i do music wise.. if i spend 24hrs / 7days a week onmusic.. i think i'd be concerned about getting sick of it... be sure to keep an opened mind to other music as well.. because believe it or not, you can subject yourself to the same kind of music 24/7... everything has to be in moderation...

otherwise, best of luck to u~!! i'm sure you'll find it extremely rewarding in the long run, and worth every penny/minute=)

The 1st time i ever trid to mix was diabolical, but it just inspired me to get better and now iv my decks for 2 and a half months andim really starting to get the hang of beat matching properly. If u wanna do it, dont let anything stop ya.

It takes alot of practice to become a DJ that can just beat match. It is also about the tunes and the other skills you can do. My advice is get the decks mate and get some tunes and pratice cueing the track. Dont worry about the earphones but the crossfader in the middle cue the track and then learn to see if the track needs to be speeded up or slowed down.

See how you get on
