On the 17th, I made a photoshop of MS Antispyware with it detecting Firefox as spyware.
Today it got put on Slashdot, with some other guy claiming 'I took this screenshot yesterday.'
I haven't been so pissed off in a long time...

Though sorry about that stealing thing, internet is full of people taking credit from other peoples work. But if you made it, you own the copyright. You can contact slashdot and say that its a copyright violation if theres not the original authors (your) name mentioned. Though doubt theyll change it.

just making it doesnt mean he owns it. To obtain a copyright to an image you have to actually go through the process, register and file for the rights to it. That image the mstar has made does not legally belong to anyone until you actually get a patent on it. Sorry :-P

Probably diffrent laws in US i guess. Cause i'm pretty sure i own the copyright of any picture, photograph etc i've made. The tricky part is to prove its by me and not by someone else ;)

it should be the same i think :-\ Because if it gets into a legal battle then how would you prove ownership of somthing without hard proof? Thats what i mean by filing it and all that. Also because if by what your saying, you can legaly claim ownership of somthing you made without telling anyone, that means if someone else get a hold of your item and claims ownership AND tells everyone before you, then it can also belong to him AND hes got the majority on his side. And I know not only the US has laws and a legal system. What if makes money on your work? Here we would sew him and by sewing someone you need to have proof of ownership. How would you prove it? Patents i think are also national and global.
