wasnt it the cotton trade that were the main reason canabis was made illegal? cos hemp is a stronger fabric?

Because they couldnt ban alcohol. In US when they tryed to ban it, the mafia started selling it (if i remember right). Here they've also tryed to give "alcohol cards" a long time ago, so that you can only buy a limited amout of alcohol in a month. Basicly the result was just that there were lots of moonshine factories in forrests etc :) When i was younger there was a huge recession here, so my brother made alcohol (the one with water, sugar and yeast). That was all i drunk when i was younger cause it was cheap :)
