It's balancing a billion different things, I know the temptation is to list any rare or exclusive track due to scarcity but... It's an artist album intended to endure. There's no point duping an already released one, no sense in sating the two percent who want something esoteric. Most is entirely unreleased, and without intervention I promise would have remained. The completionist bundle and subsequently released digital caches cover far beyond reasonable expectations for a catalogue presumed closed.

This is why I ordered the completionist edition. That way I get everything and I don't need to worry about it.

... And that's why this album worked, and can potentially save other catalogue.
I wish life was easier, mainly for me. Still.

Product Of Society (Hardcore Society Mix) and Death By Stereo aren't on the tracklist!! Also Distant Dreams and The Awakening. Hopefully on Sharkey's mix.

It's not relevant asking a question about the remixes that exist on the remix CD that you're complaining about? Ok!
I will just say that you don't speak for me when you say that no one wanted a remix CD

It's a Sharkey album. Quite frankly, I'd much rather have the original 'Today's the Day' than a remix. A load of Sharkey originals have had to make way for remixes that I wouldn't buy. It's disappointing that it feels like material is kept behind a ?100 ransom
Why isn't there more information available on the completionist version? Am I to gamble ?100 and hope I get tracks like Todays The Day?

Yes. Or don't, and wait for the bundles after the fact.

I thought HU already stated somewhere that it is everything, except 1 or 2 releases they couldn't locate. If CDJay says it is everything, I have no doubt it is everything.

You know I?m pretty tight with my outlay at times but measured against wanting a few select tracks and not knowing what else to expect, I took the call to get the complete collection for the very reason of not having to worry about not getting what we want.
Would I pay the same for the vinylgroover back catalogue? Probably not because I don?t have that same level of yearning for a set of tracks. If that catalogue comes in at 50, I think it?s a deal. Ultimately people will pay what they think is fair for the product and if you are unwilling to pay for the full catalogue then i guess you have to wait and hope what you want comes out in an affordable circumstance. I decided with nit having to so much worry about the outlay just side step any chance of having to wait any longer than i have.
I fully support this model going forward because it really is the best of both worlds. When the ham debacle came about and there was no way i was going to pay for that shit. Or when Joey Riot and Kurt started charging 50-100 quid a year or whatever for their releases as soon as they were completed. I didn't like the premise but that didn't mean that i wouldn't consider that model for someone else. I would probably pay 50 quid a year for M-project or scott brown but not for many others. But unlike the Ham thing, this is a much less dickish way of doing things and i feel for anyone that cannot make this purchase purely due to financial constraints as apposed to not thinking it is worth the money, because that sucks and i hope things work out for you. If you don't think it is worth the cost, then that's your decision like mine with the Ham shit. However please do not give HU grief for their decision because they could have given us no options at all and just drip fed the whole catalogue over years to maximise their profit and i am glad we have these options.
I would personally like to thank the tireless dedication of HU for bringing this long mooted project to fruition in such a way that everyone can get what they want from this huge event in the history of our music. I'd also like to thank sharkey for allowing it to happen but it doesn't change the fact i think he is still a dick for making us wait this long.

Your right, was just hoping that some tracks I really love made it there since there was a disc full of old tracks on it, as people are mentioning tracks that are on his hardlife album which to me is pure stupid as there already on an album and shouldn't be on a new 1, not unmixed anyway, if they appear on the dj mix then that is something completely different, so glad that panned out
Like you say its an artist album, so the tracks are on it that are supposed to be, supposed to be released years ago

Nothing is hidden behind a firewall, we said from the start everything is would get made available seperately. I think people perhaps underestimate the sheer volume, and balk at a headline figure. Of course Today's The Day is in the completionist edition, as is the Darwin remix. The decision was made by ourselves and Sharkey that the remix rendered them less relevant but they still exist. Everything means exactly that, and if I manage to source or clear something next year it'll get added gratis. Hence the title "completionist". You get what we have, now and going forward.
That's a level of unprecedented access, to a catalog largely unreleased.
I really don't know how else we could or should have done it, and I urge people to think about the potential for this model in a wider sense.

Following that, there are various versions of tracks and unreleased things we'll throw up and in, because this model supports that. The booklet is increasingly novella length. There's so much potential here to open, study, and enjoy, swathes of scene history.
Takes nothing away from what we plan going forward, but history is always the best teacher. I think we've lost a lot of lessons, and stunning artists /material, and this is my last best hope to do something about it. So... Cheer up! Hehe.
